| This video is a review and tutorial for the Soma Smart Shades solar powered motor for Alexa and Apple Home kit. You can install it in under 10 minutes and it will work with any pulley blind including light curtains, roller blinds, roman blinds, venetian blinds and wooden blinds.

| The Broadlink RF functionality is STILL not working in the EU for Alexa or Google Home, so I’ve been on the hunt for Smart Home Broadlink alternatives until a fix for RF finally gives the EU back full functionality of RF plug sockets and RF light switches. If you’re looking for a Broadlink alternative then I may just have found something special. Question is, is it any good?
For under £90 the Energenie Mi home starter packs give you a smart home hub, 3 plug sockets, a light switch and a wireless ‘click’ switch. Energenie’s Mi home products are compatible with Alexa, Google Home and IFTTT, so it’s high time I checked out the Energenie Smart Home Starter bundle. Infrared versus RF: Energenie doesn’t have the full functionality of the RM pro, it can’t control Infrared products, it isn’t a like for like alternative. Can this control my existing RF stuff?: No, sadly not it’s all proprietary stuff, but a pack of 3 sockets is £25 so it’s still a really affordable replacement. Compatability: Energenie has 2 generations of smart home products. The first generation products are not controllable by the 2nd gen hub and vice versa, don’t accidentally buy 1st gen products for a 2nd gen hub! 4.
